VIDEO: 18-Wheeler Crashes Into Daycare Center In Alabama

Tarrant, Alabama – An 18-wheeler crashed into a children’s daycare center in Alabama Tuesday morning in a an accident involving 6 vehicles.

Surveillance video from the scene of the crash is going viral as police seek answers about what happened.

 

 

Here’s what we know so far…

A big rig was traveling along Alabama 79 near the intersection of Cedar Street when it collided with a dump truck, veered across multiple lanes of traffic and struck two other vehicles before driving into the Precious Seeds Learning Center.

According to authorities, 49 children and seven caretakers were inside the building at the time of the crash. Thankfully, no injuries were reported from those inside the facility.

 

Investigators reveal the semi crashed into the sanctuary, and the children and teachers were in another building.

AL.com is reporting Birmingham Fire Battalion Chief Sebastian Carrillo confirmed five people in the vehicles were injured and two have been transported to a nearby hospital.

The extent of their injuries are unknown at this time.

Emergency response crews are also working to clean up a fuel leak.

It is unclear at this time what led to the crash.
