Trucker Wins A Million Bucks In Iowa Lottery, Plans To Buy “Dream Car”

Clive, Iowa – Another truck driver has scored a million dollar pay day in a Mega Millions lottery drawing.

60-year-old trucker Danny Lovett of East Moline, Illinois, won $1,000,000 in the Iowa lottery from a ticket he purchased at a Kum & Go last month. Lovett said the store he purchased the ticket is a regular stop for him along his route from Davenport to Des Moines.

Lovett told siouxlandproud.com that the first thing he thought when he realized he had just won a huge chunk of change was “There’s no way!” However, Lovett quickly warmed to his new reality and called it “a great thing.”

He says he plans to purchase a new house and put away a bit for retirement. He’s also planning to buy a car he’s always dreamed of… a 1972 Ford Mustang fastback.  “It’s just a car I’ve always wanted since I was a kid and never could have one. Now I can have one,” he said.

Lovett’s ticket was one of two in the country to win a $1 million prize in the January 15 Mega Millions drawing. The other was purchased in California. His ticket was only one number away from winning a share of the $55 million prize.
