Trucker Found Hanging Inside Big Rig

Corbin, Kentucky – A Florida trucker is receiving medical treatment after he attempted suicide by hanging himself inside the cab of his big rig Monday afternoon, Kentucky police say.

Corbin Police and firefighters were called to the Speedway gas station on Cumberland Falls Highway around 1:40 p.m. Monday, July 15, after 9-1-1 dispatchers received a call that a man had hung himself using a belt, The News Journal reports.

The trucker was traveling with his adult son in the truck.

After his son went into the Speedway gas station, he reportedly tried to hang himself with a belt.

The son found his father hanging when he returned and called 9-1-1, authorities say.

According to firefighters, the man was alive and breathing when taken to the hospital.

The identity of the trucker has not been released, but police say he is a resident of Port St. Lucie, Florida.

“He was having family problems,” Captain Rob Jones of the Corbin Police Department told The News Journal.
