Trucker Arrested After Police Say He Threatened Motorist With “Deadly Weapon”
Charlotte County, Florida – A trucker was arrested for allegedly waving a gun at another motorist on a Florida highway on Wednesday.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), Yoan Lopez-Pardo, 41, from Miami, was driving on I-75 near mile marker 161 in Charlotte County when he brandished a firearm to threaten a motorist in another vehicle.
FHP says it was able to located Lopez-Pardo and his truck, a 2009 Kenworth hauling a flatbed trailer, on I-75 southbound at mile marker 143 in Lee County around 7:30 a.m.
Upon searching his truck, troopers found a Taurus Millennium 9mm inside.
Lopez-Pardo was arrested and faces charges of “aggravated assault with deadly weapon without intent to kill” and “improper exhibition of dangerous weapons or firearms.”
He was booked into the Charlotte County Jail.
Police have not indicated why Lopez-Pardo displayed the weapon or if a road rage altercation sparked the tensions.
