Truck Driver Arrested After Allegedly Pointing Handgun At Motorist

Colorado Springs, Colorado – A truck driver was arrested on Tuesday after allegedly pointing a handgun at a motorist during a road rage confrontation along Interstate 25 in Douglas County.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, 37-year-old truck driver James W. Abney was arrested for menacing, a class-five felony, after they received a report from a motorist alleging Abney pointed a gun at him during a traffic altercation.

Authorities said the incident occurred near mile marker 184 in Castle Rock.

 

Deputies, along with the Colorado State Patrol, then pursued Abney and apprehended him near the Uintah Street exit of I-25 in Colorado Springs.

Abney is currently being held on a $25,000 bond.
