Three Arrested in Alleged Road Rage Shooting of Truck Driver

Richmond, VA – Police have arrested three suspects in connection to an apparent road rage shooting of a truck driver on Thursday afternoon.

The alleged gunman has now been arrested and identified as 31-year-old Chazz L. Gordon, of Powhatan.

Passengers Keyonna M. Wise, 26, and Khadijah R. Neal, 25 have also been arrested and identified by authorities.

Gordon, who authorities say was driving at the time of the shooting, is facing malicious wounding, shooting into an occupied vehicle, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and felony eluding charges.

Wise and Neal have also been charged with shooting into an occupied vehicle.

Chesterfield Police report the shooting occurred about 2:45 p.m. as a truck driver was operating on Chippenham Parkway near the Jefferson Davis Highway interchange.

The truck driver, who has not yet been identified, called 9-1-1 and reported he had been shot in the leg by someone in a gold Hyundai Sonata.

The truck driver told authorities he recognized the vehicle from a short time earlier when it attempted to pull out in front of him while traveling on Commerce Road in Richmond.

“The tractor trailer driver had the right of way and did not yield to the vehicle coming out of a business,” a Chesterfield Police spokesperson explained.

The truck driver was taken to a nearby hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Officers later spotted the Hyundai and approached the vehicle.

The Chesterfield Police spokesperson said, “When the officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the suspect vehicle fled and a pursuit ensued.”

After a brief chase, the suspects abandoned the vehicle and a “brief foot chase” ensued before they each were taken into custody, according to police.

All three suspects are being held at the Chesterfield County Jail without bond.
