Six States Plan Major Enforcement Blitz This Weekend
Little Rock, Arkansas – Law enforcement agencies in six states are preparing a massive crackdown on impaired driving.
April 20th is widely-known to be a celebratory occasion for those who smoke marijuana.
In response, police in six states are gearing up for a large-scale enforcement effort in support of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) initiative “Drive High – Get A DWI” aimed at identifying and preventing impaired driving.
State and local law enforcement agencies in Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Oklahoma are participating in the enforcement blitz of both commercial and passenger vehicles.
The blitz will begin April 19th and continue through the 20th.
Impaired driving is illegal in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C.
Besides driving completely sober from alcohol and drugs, motorists are also urged to put their cell phones down while driving and always buckle up.
