School Bus Struck By Trash Truck Sends 9 Students, 2 Adults To Hospital

Silver Spring, Maryland – Another accident involving a school bus happened this morning in Silver Spring, Maryland.

A Montgomery County school bus carrying 39 students was struck by a trash truck Monday morning, sending the bus driver and nine students to the hospital. The crash happened just before 8 a.m. near Layhill Road and Norbeck Road in Silver Spring.

Authorities say all injuries are considered non-life-threatening. Several other students were also evaluated on the scene for injuries. The students attend nearby Farquhar Middle School in Olney.

This accident comes on the heels of an alarming rise in accidents involving school buses across the country. Even some truck drivers are facing charges related to school bus involved accidents.
