ROAD RAGE CAUGHT ON VIDEO: Motorist Wields Machete, Attacks Truck Driver
Goldens Bridge, New York – Shocking video of a road rage altercation between a motorist and a truck driver was captured Tuesday morning along I-684 near Goldens Bridge, New York.
Traffic was at a standstill due to a series of wrecks southbound along Route 138. At approximately 8 a.m. police allege 46-year-old Roderick Davis of Danbury pulled his vehicle onto the shoulder and continued to drive south. Officials say the vehicle Davis was operating struck a stopped semi-tanker.
Davis got out of his vehicle and the driver of the tanker also exited his truck and the two men began arguing. That’s when Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. claims Davis returned to his vehicle to retrieve a machete.
In the video captured by motorist Joe Lombardi, Davis is seen striking the tanker and threatening the truck driver. A witness of the incident told wilton.dailyvoice.com that the truck driver was holding an iron pipe during the confrontation also.
The two men can then be seen scuffling. Thankfully, an off-duty law enforcement officer witnessed the altercation and exited his vehicle and was able to end the potentially deadly confrontation.
When state police arrived both men were questioned and their vehicles searched. The truck driver was not charged in the incident. Davis, however, is facing a total of 6 charges including: criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, a Class D felony; criminal possession of marijuana in the fifth degree, misdemeanor; endangering the welfare of a child, misdemeanor; misdemeanor menacing (with a weapon), second degree; harassment in the second degree/physical contact; and disorderly conduct/obstructing traffic.
