MISSING: Trucker Mysteriously Vanishes, Police Find Semi Idling On Interstate
Fresno County, California – A truck driver from Fowler, California, has mysteriously gone missing according to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said 54-year-old truck driver, Satwant Singh Bains, went missing on Wednesday, May 15.
Police were called to Interstate 5 and Whitworth Road, at approximately 5 a.m., after receiving a report that a semi pulling a refrigeration trailer was sitting idle on the freeway and partially blocking the northbound right lane.
While on scene, officers discovered the truck’s engine running and the doors were unlocked with no one inside.
Authorities then found a cell phone and wallet inside the truck belonging to Bains.
After searching the immediate area without finding Bains, authorities had his truck and trailer towed away to a storage area.
Police then contacted Bains’ family to notify them Bains had gone missing.
According to those who spoke with the family, they said it is out of character for Bains to vanish without telling anyone.
Bains was reportedly hauling a load to Fairfield (northern California).
The Merced County Sheriff’s Office was also made aware of the case and completed a thorough check of the area where Bains’ truck was found.
Officials were also assisted in the search by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) helicopter, but saw no sign of Bains.
