100 Motorists Left With Flat Tires After Semi-Truck Loses Load of Metal Pieces

Cleveland, Ohio – Officials say one hundred motorists reported flat tires on Tuesday along I-77 after a load of metal pieces fell off of a semi-truck and was strewn across the roadway.

Cleveland Fire Department (CFD) officials said the lost cargo resulted in a chaotic scene beginning at approximately 3:30 p.m. on July 23.

The semi-truck lost the load of metal near Interstate 490, officials said.

Incredibly, no collisions or injuries were reported.

CFD took to Twitter to post pictures of the metal pieces and give updates to travelers.

Some Twitter users sounded off and demanded the trucking company pay to fix the flat tires.

“That company should be responsible for all of those peoples tire repairs…” one user wrote.

“Someone is getting fired,” wrote another.

A street sweeper was brought in to help clear the jagged metal from the northbound lanes.

It took cleanup crews approximately 4 hours to clear the roadway and reopen the northbound lanes in the affected area.
